A missing mountain biker reported by his family was discovered dead in the McDowell-Sonoran Preserve, according to the Scottsdale police.
The man’s body was found about 9 p.m. Friday near Stagecoach Pass and Boulder View Drive, the Scottsdale police said. The man set out early Friday for a bike ride but never returned, prompting his family to report him missing.
The Scottsdale Police Department, together with the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office, is investigating the case. For now, all preliminary information collected states that the death could have resulted either from a health issue or a crash from riding a bike. The medical examiner will later confirm the actual cause of death.
The investigation continues, and thus more information is expected to be gathered.
