One person was killed and at least six were injured following a mass shooting at Maplewood Park in Rochester, New York, on Sunday evening. Rochester police responded to the scene at around 6:20 pm following reports of gunfire at a large gathering. Officers found several people suffering from severe gunshot wounds.

Additionally, a 20-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, while another person had life-threatening injuries. Five additional victims were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The identities of the victims have not been released yet.
The shooting forced a response from multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Irondequoit Police, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Rochester Police, and New York State Police. The police have confirmed that a party was taking place at the park at the time of the incident, but the exact circumstances leading to the shooting remain unclear.
