Man seriously injured in New Albany shooting 17 year-old apprehended

One man is in critical after a shooting on Monday morning in New Albany. Police received multiple reports of gunshots around 10:00 a.m. Monday, in the 300 block of West Eighth Street. The street runs just one block west of West Main Street.

New Albany Police were called to a multiple gunshots report. Authorities arrived to find a man with critical injuries from apparent gunfire. He was rushed to UofL Hospital, where his condition remains life-threatening.

The police had arrested a 17-year-old who is said to be involved with the shootings and have quickly taken him into custody for interrogation regarding the shooting incidents. 

According to the police, all the culprits involved in the case have been identified, but there are more details yet to be known since the investigations are still in process.

The New Albany Police Department is holding their operations in conjunction with the Indiana State Police on this matter. The NAPD asks anyone having information to contact them at 812-948-5317.
