Man arrested after alleged attempted carjacking, damaging police cruiser

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office reports that following an attempted carjacking in St. Clair Township on Monday morning, a man has been taken into custody and charged. It happened on Riverside Drive, a short distance west of Edgewood High School, at approximately 7:10 a.m., according to deputies.

Authorities claim that 19-year-old Steven Sizemore forced a passing car to halt by pointing a gun at it. Sizemore started to climb into the car after telling the driver to get out, but he halted when his buddy declined to accompany him. The woman, according to deputies, managed to return to her car and drive away.

Sizemore was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm by the time deputies took him into custody, according to the BCSO.

Sizemore allegedly started kicking the rear doors of the cruiser while he was being driven to the Butler County Jail, breaking both of the door knobs.
