Following reports of a shooting in south Phoenix on Wednesday morning, an intense search is currently underway.
The was informed by responding authorities that one individual had been shot in an area close to 40th Street and Baseline Road. With potentially fatal injuries, the sufferer has been taken urgently to the hospital.
The suspected shooter is being actively sought after. Public is being advised by police to stay away from the area.
Local schools were placed on lockdown, said to a lieutenant on the site, but the order was lifted around nine in the morning.
Schools in the area include Arizona Cultural Academy & College Prep, Skyline Preschool, South Valley Prep and Arts School, South Phoenix Prep and Arts Academy, and Skyline Prep High School.
The family has inquired as to the precise number of schools impacted.
