Joint enforcement effort at Ky. state line ends in 1 arrest, 65 citations

Authorities report that over 54 collisions have occurred on I-65 close to the Kentucky-Tennessee state line in the last three months. The Kentucky State Police claim that these crashes led to a cooperative effort between their agency and the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office to reduce the amount of crashes and criminal activity between the state line and mile marker 20.

Troops reaffirmed that every law enforcement agency will continue to place the community’s and visitors’ safety first. KSP reported that the cooperative effort resulted in 1 arrest, 40 speeding tickets, and 25 additional citations, including driving on a suspended license, lane usage violations, lack of insurance, and careless driving charges.
