Ex-University of Kentucky student who used N-word over 200 times in horrifying caught-on-camera attack pleads guilty

According to a source, the former University of Kentucky student who was shown in a viral video assaulting a black student and using a litany of racist epithets, including the N-word more than 200 times, has entered a guilty plea to assault charges.

Sophia Rosing, 23, entered a guilty plea in Fayette County Circuit Court on Monday to four charges of fourth-degree assault, one count of disorderly conduct, and one act of public intoxication, according to her attorney, Fred Peters, who spoke with the Lexington Herald-Leader on Monday.

Following a mediation in which, according to Peters, “a lot of things got said, apologies were made, and we worked it out,” the guilty plea was entered.

The lawyer told the newspaper, “Her life has been on hold for the past 18 to 20 months.” “She wrote a lovely letter of apology after giving her actions a lot of thought.”

In a TikTok video of the incident, Spring claimed that she had attempted to check on Rosing, who looked inebriated and in need of help, but was instead attacked and showered with vile abuse by the student.

After the attack, Spring claimed, “The girl starts saying things like ‘Do my chores,’ ‘It’s not my fault that you’re black,’ and ‘It’s not my fault that you’re ugly,’ and at this point, she’s like singing the N-word.”
