A criminal complaint about alleged acts of aggravated internet harassment against Olympic gold medal winner Imane Khelif names JK Rowling and Elon Musk. Variety was informed by Nabil Boudi, Khelif’s Paris-based lawyer, that the two well-known people are referenced in the case.
“Among the parties mentioned in the complaint are J. K. Rowling and Elon Musk. Trump tweeted, thus the investigation into him as part of the prosecution will unavoidably occur whether or not he is mentioned in our case, according to Boudi.
Boudi clarified that, despite the complaint names specific persons, his team is requesting that the prosecution look into whomever they think should be investigated in addition to the individuals listed.
He clarified that if the matter goes to court, they are certain they would have a standing trial. Boudi stated that the case targets celebrities who reside abroad and that the prosecutor’s office has been asked to fight hate speech on the internet by requesting that other nations provide reciprocal legal support.
Along with other Olympic medalists including gymnast Kaylia Nemour and runner Djamel Sedjati, the gold medallist from Algeria in the women’s welterweight boxing event took a Monday afternoon flight back to the capital of the gas-rich North African nation.
According to APS, the country’s official press agency, they were met by Minister of Youth and Sports Abderrahmane Hammad upon arriving in Algiers, and they were expected to visit President Abdelmadjid Tebboune later this week.
