The driver involved in a weekend collision in the Buechel area that resulted in one death has been detained and charged by Louisville police.The 45-year-old Wimpy Myers II is accused of homicide, criminal mischief, and drunk driving.
In response to a single-car collision, police said they were sent to the intersection of Breckenridge Lane and Redding Road at 5:13 p.m. and discovered two persons critically injured. After being brought to the University of Louisville Hospital, one of them passed away.
The vehicle was traveling quickly north when, for an unexplained reason, the driver lost control, went into the southbound lane, and collided with a tree and a utility pole, according to the LMPD’s Traffic Unit.
A later arrest of Myers took place at the hospital.
