Convicted Felon Sentenced to Ten Years After Pleading Guilty to Gun Charge

A man who admitted guilt to possessing a firearm was given a ten-year prison sentence. Raleigh Lamar was given a sentence on Monday morning in Hopkins County Circuit Court over the charge of felon in possession of a pistol.

In February 2023, he was also accused of murder in relation to Terrance Minor Jr.’s shooting death; nevertheless, he was found not guilty.

The not guilty decision, according to Hopkins County Commonwealth Attorney Kathy Senter, was supported by a claim of self-defence. She added that the gun charge and the murder charge needed to be divided into two sections. Probation is not an option for Lamar.
