City of Cincinnati cracking down on speeders on Colerain Avenue with new traffic safety measures

Just inside the city borders, there have already been 139 crashes on the road this year, according to Cincinnati city data. Here, the city’s engineering department has added a few new features to encourage cars to stay below the speed limit.

The speed limit, which is 35 mph, is indicated with new pavement markings, digital speed limit signs that track your speed, and new speed cushions.

Additionally, engineers intend to build a raised crosswalk next to West North Bend Road and a traffic light at the intersection of Shepard Creek.

Here in Mount Airy, there have been over half of this year’s collisions along Colerain Avenue.

This includes one that occurred a few weeks ago at the Raeburn crossroads, where a car crashed into a utility pole.
