Car catches fire in garage, damages West Nashville townhome

After an automobile caught fire in the garage on Thursday morning, a townhome located in West Nashville sustained significant damage. Just after 8:30 a.m., fire firefighters were dispatched to the 5600 block of Lenox Avenue in response to reports of an on-fire automobile.

When firefighters got to the scene, they reported seeing a lot of smoke coming from the townhouse’s roof. According to fire officials, a 2-alarm reaction was first triggered but was later lowered. A Nashville Fire Department spokesman told News 2 that firefighters attacked the fire on Thursday morning, putting it out and taking its fuel.

Two cars were completely wrecked in the garage, and one of the townhomes looked to have significant damage. There were no reported injuries, though.

It’s still unknown what caused the fire. No other details were made available right away.
