Arizona Health Department Relaunches COVID Vaccine Program Amid Case Increase

In response to a rise in instances, the Arizona Department of Health Services is resuming its COVID vaccination campaign.

There will be one program event on Tuesday, July 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Ahadi Care Home, 3459 Vaughn Ave., Gilbert.

According to data from the state health department, the number of cases and testing has increased by 37% since last month, with over 57,000 instances statewide, even if overall numbers are lower than in previous years.

Additionally, the health department brought back the accessibility of the COVID vaccination program for anyone who wishes to receive one.

“You can schedule a mobile clinic or vaccine appointment in your home by emailing us at healthequity@azdhs.gov, by filling out our online form, or accessing our website,” ADHS stated earlier in the month.

This is intended to cover the underinsured and uninsured in light of the CDC Bridge access program’s expiration in August.

As instances rise around the country, Navajo National Health officials advise wearing masks indoors.

The tribal health department advises people to maintain current vaccination records and proper cleanliness, but notes that hospitalizations and fatalities are still rare.
