3 inmates escape from correctional center, 1 still on loose

Three prisoners broke out of their confines on Friday night, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and one is still at large.

It was held at the Community Correctional Center in Turtlecreek Township, which is close to State Route 63.

Isaiah Youngblood, 26, Terry Akers, 28, and Shaun Birgel, 45, are the prisoners who managed to break free.

Youngblood is still missing. Shortly after their escape, Middletown police located and arrested both Akers and Birgel.

Youngblood was last observed walking toward Interstate 75 from State Route 63.

There is “no information reported from the Community Correctional Center that Isaiah Youngblood presents a threat to the public,” according to the sheriff’s office. But, anyone who spots Isaiah should notify the authorities right away by dialing 911 for a law reinforcement response.”

Not connected to the network of prisons run by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction or the Warren County Jail, the Community Correctional Center is a privately held correctional facility owned by the Talbert House.

“Community Correctional Center (CCC) is a tobacco free residential community based correctional facility located in Lebanon, Ohio,” reads a description of the correctional facility provided by the Talbert House. A stay of up to six months (180 days) is permitted. The resident will have the opportunity to analyze and modify the way of thinking that informed his decisions and his engagement with the criminal justice system during this program. We want to offer a secure, encouraging environment where he may work hard and discover who he is.”
