2 pilots who crashed plane on St. Matthews road are ‘doing well’

2 pilots who crashed plane on St Matthews road are doing well

This is a promising update from last week’s plane crash in St. Matthews, where both pilots involved are reportedly “doing well.” Friday evening around 6:30 p.m., a small, single-engine plane went down into the 4000 block of Kresge Way near Bowman Field, during a busy time with cars in the area.

An UPDATE On this incident came from the Kentucky Flight Training Center, they said two pilots, a flight instructor Evans Peele and private pilot Jessica Deis were involved in the crash.

“Evan Peele, the instructor, has some injuries that will need rehab; Jessica Deis, who was a private student, left in pretty good shape, Dale Crigger, spokesperson for the training center said.

Crigger praised Peele’s flying skills, saying that his cool-thinking while making decisions and training had helped him avoid turning the crash deadly. “Thanks to the instructor’s skill, he was able to get the plane on the ground with nonlife-threatening injuries,” he said.

The car involved in the crash had a person inside who has been hospitalized, although the extent of their injuries cannot be described.

Investigation is still proceeding, and the two pilots are expected to recover from this accident.
