_2 killed in crash that shut down Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway in Tempe

According to officials, a three-vehicle collision on Tempe’s Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway on Monday night claimed the lives of two persons.

Following the fatal collision, which happened at around 8 p.m., the eastbound lanes of Loop 202 were blocked near Scottsdale Road for a number of hours.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision began when a red passenger car rear-ended a black SUV on Tuesday morning. The SUV was subsequently forced into the median barrier by a white pickup truck that had rear-ended it.

In the Loop 202 collision, two persons in the red automobile perished. The driver of the SUV was unharmed, while the driver of the pickup truck was transported to a hospital.

No criminal charges are pending, according to DPS.
