A small aircraft crash in a field off Ashgrove Road in Nicholasville on Sunday evening claimed the lives of two Lexington residents, identified as 72-year-old Micheal D. Murphy and his wife, 72-year-old Connie J. Murphy, according to Jessamine County Coroner Michael Hughes.
The incident, involving a single-powered parachute aircraft, occurred around 6 p.m., as confirmed by the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Kevin Grimes reported that a witness spotted the aircraft downed in a field and called 911 shortly before 6 p.m., prompting a rapid emergency response and significant police presence at the scene.
