Authorities announced Tuesday that two suspects are in custody after a multi-agency investigation into a brazen heist that left Dubai Jewelry in Nashville’s Woodbine neighborhood with over $1 million in losses. The October 23 robbery saw suspects flee away with up to an estimated $1.5 to $1.7 million in jewelry after deploying pepper spray and holding store employees at gunpoint.
According to the MNPD, Hernandez, 34, and Garcia, 38, were arrested on October 27 by Miami Beach Police at the Grand Beach Hotel in Miami, where police said they recovered jewelry, cash, and a wig used in the robbery. They await extradition to Nashville to face charges.
MNPD said it is also still looking for a third accomplice, but that one has not been identified. A reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers for information about the third suspect. Anyone with any kind of information is urged to call 615-742-7463.
This coordinated arrest effort involved the FBI, Nashville International Airport Police, and local law enforcement and underlined the continuing pursuit of the remaining suspect in this case with determination. No further details on the investigation have been released so far.
