Fayette County, on 7th October, two people were arrested and charged with kidnapping three children as reported by Lexington Police Department.
Authorities said about 6:30 p.m. Crimes Against Children Detectives received information that two “noncustodial family members” had taken the children, possibly with the intention of taking them out of state.
Detectives immediately began searching for the suspect vehicle, working with other authorities and using advanced technology.
That same night, Delaware State Police stopped the vehicle and apprehended both the suspects and rescued the children. The two suspects have been identified as 29-year-old Ashley Brown and 50-year-old Kolene Shahan. They have been charged with three counts of first-degree kidnapping.
The children are recovered safely, though the case is still under investigation.
