Juan Martinez-Bustos died from injuries sustained in an early October shooting in Lexington, the Fayette County Coroner’s Office said. He was pronounced dead at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday at UK Medical Center after being shot on Devonport Drive about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 3.
However, a second shooter was also present in the shooting, and that individual reportedly is not life-threatening, but did survive, according to earlier reports. No arrests have been made, and neither agency has identified the shooter.
The Lexington Police Department and the coroner’s office have now classified the shooting death as a homicide after Martinez-Bustos died. Anyone with information they are urged to call them.
