17-Year-Old Boy Dead, Another Teen in Custody After Shooting in Central Phoenix

Police in Phoenix were looking into a shooting that claimed the life of a teenager. In relation to the death, another adolescent was arrested on Monday.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the vicinity of East 24th Street and South Fifth Avenue on Sunday just after 11:30 a.m.

When police arrived, they discovered a 17-year-old teenager in the driver’s seat of a car who had been shot. He was identified as Aidan Apel.

Apel passed away at the scene from his wounds.

Police tracked down other witnesses who recognized the offender and pointed them in the right direction. The police reported that the teenage suspect acknowledged shooting Apel.
