16 year old dead, two others including 13 year old critically hurt in crash

A fatal car accident on Thursday morning has been reported in Butler County, in which a 16-year-old lost her life, with two others in critical condition. This accident occurred on the road near the 6700 block of West Elkton in Somerville, Ohio, around 6:30 a.m. 

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office reported that this happened. Investigators said that the 16-year-old driver was behind the wheel of his 2004 Pontiac with his 13-year-old passenger when his car crashed into the center line and hit head-on a 2013 Chevrolet Suburban, which was driven by a 60-year-old man.

The young driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people, a 13-year-old passenger and the 60-year-old driver, were airlifted to nearby hospitals with serious life-threatening injuries.

The identity of the teen victim is not being released by authorities, and the cause for the crash remains under investigation.
