C.W. McGraw Elementary School‘s student council began a district-wide “Bring Cheer Campaign” asking all students to create a digital or hand-written holiday card to be shared with those in Yuma isolated by COVID-19.

Their goal is to receive 2,000 cards by the deadline of December 11th.  As of Monday, 710 cards have been created and plans to distribute them include:

  • 150 shoeboxes of supplies to be delivered to Crossroads Mission were all filled with messages from our District #1 students!
  • 40 people receiving a dinner by the Yuma Heritage Library will be receiving a letter!
  • Approximately 200 letters have been requested by assisted living homes here in Yuma!

Yuma Elementary School District One is so proud of the McGraw Student Council for imagining and then organizing this great way to give back during the holidays.
