Tucson Unified Finance receives Certificate of Excellence

Tucson Unified School District No. 1 has received ASBO’s Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ended 2019. This award represents a significant achievement and reflects the district’s commitment to transparency and high-quality financial reporting.

The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) recognizes districts that have met the program’s high standards for financial reporting and transparency.

“The COE’s mission is to promote and recognize excellence in financial reporting, specifically through a district’s CAFR,” ASBO International Executive Director David Lewis says. “The CAFR informs stakeholders about the financial and economic state of the district, making it an important communications tool for building trust and engaging with the school community.”

“I am proud of the Finance Department team who is committed to the standards of excellence necessary to sustain this achievement that has been awarded to Tucson Unified School District for 32 years,” said Renee Weatherless, Executive Director Financial Services, Tucson Unified School District.
