Supt. Hoffman proclaims September Suicide Prevention Month

Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman has proclaimed the month of September as Suicide Prevention Month in Arizona schools.
“It is vitally important that we use opportunities like Suicide Prevention Month to connect those in need with resources, as well as to break down the stigma surrounding mental health challenges,” Supt. Hoffman said. “Having open, honest conversations about suicide and mental health issues saves lives.

“We can all play a role in preventing suicide, and I encourage everyone to learn more about how to do so – no student in Arizona should have to struggle with these issues alone,” Supt. Hoffman said.
