Thirty third-grade students from Pima, Tonalea, Hohokam Traditional and Yavapai schools  and National Football League draft candidates will visit Supai Middle School for the annual Read Across America event from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, February 28.

The students chosen to attend the event at the middle school at 6720 E. Continental Drive in Scottsdale were selected for their love of reading.

These students will participate in four stations that promote the love of learning.

  • Feeding Your Brain with Reading and Feeding Your Body with Exercise – three NFL draft candidates will work this station
  • Green Eggs and Ham story while eating a healthy snack (red and white of course)
  • Make Some Noise – percussion and reading
  • Read aloud while creating a reading related craft – Oh, the Places You Will Go

All of the students will go home with their own Dr. Seuss book that they promise to read to a younger child.
