Western School Of Science And Technology, STEM,

What advice would you give to your younger self if you could?

“If you want to do something do it or else you’re going to regret it later on.” – Norma, 16

Students choose STEM projects to benefit school, community Western-School-of-Science-and-Technology-STEM-300x151During 3rd & 4th quarters, students chose their project in STEM all with the same goals of improving something about our school or local community.

This opportunity gave students time to explore a topic they are interested in as well as experience the entire project process from ideation to implementation.

Projects range from a Humans of New York inspired blog –Humans of Maryvale, aiming to redefine Maryvale and those who life here to adding murals to the gym to bring about more school spirit and pride.

One team is collecting and organizing an international cookbook with family recipes from students and staff to share our cultures and other teams are building tables, chairs, and bookshelves to create more meeting spaces on our campus.
