Scottsdale students help at holiday railroad park event

Service Learning students from Arcadia and Saguaro high schools  in the Scottsdale Unified School District will assist during the annual McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park Holiday Lights from December 13-19.

The event runs until January 4, 2014. The park is closed on December 24th, 25th and 31st.

 More than 100,000 lights can be viewed from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the railroad park at 7301 E. Indian Bend Road in Scottsdale make the holiday season a winter wonderland. Service Learning students dress as characters and are Santa’s helpers.

Activities include a picture with Santa, train and carousel rides and holiday light displays. Santa will be at the park through December 23rd. A train ride is $3 and carousel ride is $2 each, and children under three ride free with a paying adult.

If it is raining, please call the park at 480-312-2312 to see if the holiday lights will be offered.
