The Scottsdale Unified School District will host its annual All-City Athletic Fall Sports Awards Banquet at 6 p.m. Jan. 29 to honor athletes from Arcadia, Chaparral, Coronado, Desert Mountain and Saguaro high schools.

The event will be held at Chaparral Suites at 5001 N. Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale.

The keynote speakers will be Ron Wolfley, KTAR and Arizona Sports 620; and Todd Graham, Arizona State Football Coach.

This first All-City Athletic Awards Banquet of the 2013-14 school year is a way for Scottsdale citizens and businesses to recognize and to honor the accomplishments – both academic and athletic – of athletes within SUSD’s sports programs.

Seventy-nine athletes will be honored at this event.

Scholarships from Scottsdale Charros and Scottsdale Healthcare will be awarded.

The event is sponsored by Comerica Bank, Scottsdale Healthcare, Scottsdale Unified School District Foundation and the Scottsdale Charros.

This banquet is to honor fall sports: football, swimming and diving, cross-country, badminton, golf and volleyball.

There will be two more banquets this year to honor winter and spring sports:

  • March 24, 2014 for winter sports (basketball, wrestling and soccer)
  • May 12, 2014 for spring sports (track, baseball, softball and tennis)
