Cameron Carver of Sabino High School in Tucson was also named a Flinn Scholar and plans to major in mechanical engineering at Arizona State University in the fall.
“I have always been interested in the way that everything works,” Carver said. “I always took things apart and put them back together.”
“With studying mechanical engineering I hope to explore new ways of electrical generation for as we look to the future power is something that we will always need,” Carver said.
Carver said he learned about the Flinn Scholarship during an information session at his high school and his parents and classmates supported him through the application process.
“With the Flinn I will be able explore my passions through not just the classroom but through the many doors that are now open to me,” Carver said.“From the travel program to the internship opportunities, Flinn has made it possible for me to experience things that I may have never experienced.”
