The Cochise County School Superintendent’s Office and the Southern Arizona Regional Education Center are hosting the Cochise County Summer Teachers’ Conference July 10 and 11 at Colonel Smith Middle School on Fort Huachuca.
The conference consists of two days of professional support and resources to develop to develop Phase III English Language Arts and Mathematic lessons and units that correlate with the standards, student performance, and formative assessments (SPA). Phase II English Language Arts and Mathematic Standards training will also be offered.
The highlight of the conference will be a STEM strand, facilitated by DaNel Hogan, STEM Coordinator at the Pima County School Superintendent’s Office, a former Einstein Fellow and science teacher.
The cost for both days is $60 and includes meals and materials. Professional development recertification credit will be based upon the sessions attended.
In keeping with the SPA theme, products and services will also be raffled at the end of the conference, supported by local businesses.
