Register for the Tucson Unified 2021 Summer Experience Programs

Tucson Unified is excited to share that it has finalized its 2021 Summer Experience programs. TUSD is dedicated to enhancing its students’ educational experience for the 2020-2021 school year and beyond. It is in that spirit, that they are proud to have an extensive K-12 Summer School program that will address some of the learning challenges experienced due to the Covid-19 pandemic and accelerate students’ progress.

These programs are free to all students and will be available at all TUSD schools. The will be both in-person and remote experiences available for families to choose from. Free Breakfast and Lunch provided to all students.

The Summer Experience programs include:

K-8 Full Steam Ahead, which is an integrated approach that incorporates Science, Math, ELA, and can include MOWR (Move on When Reading). The curriculum will focus on engaging students in enrichment activities and foster problem solving, creativity, and inventiveness. The program will run June 2-30; Monday-Friday; 8 a.m.- 12 p.m. and is located at all TUSD Elementary, K-8, and Middle Schools. Registration accepted until June 2nd. Transportation will be provided.

HS Freshmen Academy is designed to support incoming freshman students in making the transition from middle school to high school while building math, reading and study skills through the iReady program. The program will run June 2-30, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 12 p.m. Registration accepted until June 2nd. Free Transportation available through Sun Tran.

HS Summer School is for high school students looking for credit recovery. There are three blocks available with both A.M. and P.M. sessions. They run June 2-16, June 17-30, and July 12-23. The last day of registration is the 1st day of class. Free Transportation available through Sun Tran.

Catalina Online Learning Experience (COLE) is available to students from any school for credit advancement or grade replacement. Free Transportation available through Sun Tran.
