Parents with an incoming kindergartener are invited to help prep their child for their first school experience by allowing them to attend Peoria Unified’s Kinder Camp. The camp will be an opportunity for your child to get a jumpstart into life as a kindergartner, right alongside a certified early childhood teacher.
Kinder Camp will be held July 25 – 28, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the following elementary schools: Coyote Hills, Frontier, Marshall Ranch, Oakwood, Oasis, and Vistancia. While attending Kinder Camp, students will review basic curriculum such as rhyming, writing their name, numbers, and early reading and writing skills. They will also explore the library, playground, and cafeteria to help alleviate first day of school jitters.
Registration will take place from April 18 – June 9, and cost is $60 per student (price includes a daily snack). Space is limited on each participating campus. To register your child for Kinder Camp, contact Kelli Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 623-773-6675. Please make sure your child is registered at a Peoria Unified elementary school before enrolling them in Kinder Camp.
