Queen Creek Unified School District Hosts an Adopt a Family Christmas Program

This holiday season is going to be much brighter for several deserving families in the East Valley. Every year the Queen Creek Family Resource Center, which is part of the Queen Creek Unified School District, hosts an Adopt a Family Christmas Program.
During the month of December, the staff at the Family Resource center enlisted the help of several outside organizations to collect toys, bikes, and gifts for the families.
This year’s agencies included: SRP Employees Club, Kiwanis Club of Queen Creek, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Heart Cry Church, Queen Creek Junior High PTO, and the Lost Dutchman Bike Club of Queen Creek.
Many of these organizations have donated to the program for the past several years. All “adopted” several families and students; SRP adopted 227!
Queen Creek Unified employees and students also contributed gifts to the toy drive. Queen Creek Junior High School adopted five families and provided close to 100 gifts for those families.
During a typical year, the Queen Creek Family Resource Center Adopt a Family Christmas Program culminates with a car show; but this year, due to the pandemic the Family Resource Center hosted a virtual car and motorcycle show.
In the end, despite a challenging year, our community still came together for students and families in need and we are so grateful for your support!
