Rural school districts are experiencing declining student enrollment and with the shift to current year funding that’s hitting their budgets hard, said Dr. Anabel Aportela, director of research and analysis for Arizona School Business Officials and Arizona School Boards Association, during an interview with Lisa Irish, education reporter for Arizona Education News Service.
