Pima JTED honors National FFA winner

At their November meeting the JTED Governing Board honored Tanque Verde Veterinary Assistant, and ArgiScience student, Meghan Marner with an Outstanding Achievement and a Student of the Month award. In addition to a $1000 scholarship, Meghan won 1st place in the National FFA Veterinary Science Career Development Event (CDE) held recently in Louisville, Ky.

The Tanque Verde High School senior’s classmate, Miriam Solinsky, placed 13th in the same individual competition. The JTED FFA Veterinary Science team (including Sarah Knight, Kayla Garard, Marner and Solinsky) competed against 43 other teams to take home a 6th place medal.

The CDE challenges students to apply classroom knowledge to real-life situations. FFA is a national youth organization of approximately 560,000 student members and 7,500 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
