Kistner Sworn In HP

The Peoria Unified School District welcomes James Kistner as its newest addition to the Governing Board.

His term will run through December 31, 2014.

Kistner was appointed to the Board through the vacancy filling process prescribed by Dr. Don Covey of Maricopa County Education Service Agency.

Kistner will join the Governing Board at the next regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. on April 10, 2014.

Prior to the meeting, a welcome reception will take place at 5 p.m. in the District Administration Center lobby, 6330 W. Thunderbird Road, Glendale.

The Peoria Unified School District, located in the West Valley, serves more than 36,000 students in 32 elementary schools, seven high schools and one non-traditional school.

With ongoing open enrollment and alternative educational opportunities, the district boasts a 94 percent high school graduation rate.
