Peoria Unified students hit the books on Aug. 6

The Peoria Unified School District will begin the 2014-15 school year on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014 with the last day of school on Thursday, May 21, 2015.

This year’s school calendar includes four full-release days for teacher professional development, Thanksgiving Break Nov. 24-28 and Winter Break Dec.19 -Jan 2.

Additional calendar highlights are below:

Sept. 2 Full Release Day- No School
Oct. 13 Schools, Offices Closed – Columbus Day
Nov. 11 Schools, Offices Closed – Veterans Day
Nov. 24-28 Schools, Offices Closed – Thanksgiving Break
Dec.19– Jan. 2 Schools Closed – Winter Break
Jan. 5 School Resumes from Winter Break
Jan. 19 Schools, Offices Closed – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Jan. 20 Full Release Day- No School
Feb. 16 Schools, Offices Closed – Presidents’ Day
Feb. 17 Full Release Day- No School
March 16-20 Schools, Offices Closed – Spring Break

April 17 Schools Closed – April Break
May 19-20 8th-Grade Promotions
