Peoria Unified School District’s Early Childhood Education program was awarded the prestigious Excellence in Action award, which recognizes innovative and impactful Career and Technical Education programs of study across the nation.

Peoria Unified School District was one of eleven programs selected as an “Excellence in Action” award winner, based on its unique and effective approach to offering authentic and meaningful work-based learning experiences, rigorous coursework, and supported transitions from secondary to post-secondary education continuing on to successful careers.

Peoria Unified School District received the award in the Education & Training Career Cluster from Advance CTE as a result of their commitment to provide the next generation work-based learning opportunities and the skills they need for success.

Peoria Unified School District’s Director of Career and Technical Education, Dr. Patti Beltram, accepted the honor at an award luncheon and reception as part of the Advance CTE Spring Meeting in Washington, D.C. in May.

Peoria Unified, located in the Northwest Valley, serves more than 37,000 students in 34 elementary schools, seven high schools and one non-traditional school.
