Sunset Heights Elementary School

Peoria Unified School District will celebrate the opening of its 33rd elementary school at a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony at Sunset Heights Elementary School at 9687 W. Adam Avenue in Peoria at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19 in the school’s cafeteria.

During the dedication ceremony, Principal Rae Conelley will give an address. Liberty High School’s jazz band will play and Sunset Heights Elementary students will share why they love their new school. A short tour will follow the ceremony.

The Peoria Unified School District serves more than 37,000 students in 34 elementary schools, seven high schools and one non-traditional high school and was the first district in the state to receive the prestigious AdvancED Accreditation.

With ongoing open enrollment and unique educational opportunities, the district boasts a 95 percent high school graduation rate.
