Peoria Unified School District honored high school basketball athletes during an award assembly on Friday and will recognize soccer top achievers for their accomplishments during an award assembly today at 1 p.m.
Peoria Unified’s high school student athletes were recognized for their stellar achievements at the District Administration Center at 6330 W. Thunderbird Road in Glendale.
These events will take place in Training Rooms 1, 2 and 3 on the north side of the building in the district’s Training Facility.
These events will highlight Peoria Unified’s individual scholar athletes, as well as the exceptional first and second teams that participated in the state playoffs this year.
Administrators and coaches will be in attendance to honor these student athletes and their remarkable skills.
In addition, a student representative from each high school will give a short recap about their season.
All-district teams will be present at this event and awards will be given to more than 40 top athletes for soccer and more than 35 top athletes for basketball from all seven high schools within the district.
The Peoria Unified School District serves more than 36,000 students in 32 elementary schools, seven high schools and one non-traditional high school and was the first district in the state to receive the prestigious AdvancED Accreditation.
