Peoria Unified’s high school student athletes will be recognized for their stellar achievements at the All-District Volleyball Recognition Event on at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14 and the All-District Football Recognition Event at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 at the District Administration Center, 6330 W. Thunderbird Road, Glendale. These events will take place in Training Rooms 1, 2 and 3 on the north side of the building in the district’s Training Facility.
These events will highlight Peoria Unified’s individual scholar athletes, as well as the exceptional first and second teams that participated in the state playoffs this year. Administrators and coaches will be in attendance to honor these student athletes and their remarkable skills.
In addition, a student representative from each high school will give a short recap about their season. All-district teams will be present at this event and awards will be given to more than 30 top athletes for volleyball and more than 60 top athletes for football from all seven high schools within the district.
The Peoria Unified School District, located in the West Valley, is an “A” labeled school district by the Arizona Department of Education’s AZ Learns Achievement Profiles. The district serves more than 36,000 students in 32 elementary schools, seven high schools and one non-traditional high school and was the first district in the state to receive the prestigious AdvancED Accreditation.
