Schools still need you to volunteer

With many schools in need in the West and Northwest Valley still actively looking for classroom volunteers, Your Experience Counts is offering a special orientation and training designed for winter visitors and other first-time volunteers!
No prior teaching experience is required to be an effective volunteer, according to Program Manager Mike Beardslee.
“We value life and work experiences, a passion for helping children learn and an interest in specific subject areas,” says Beardslee. “We provide the training to boost volunteers’ confidence and capabilities to support classroom learning.”
Your Experience Counts (YEC) members have daytime availability and a wealth of knowledge and personal experience to share with a younger generation. These committed volunteers work alongside classroom teachers to ensure the academic success of each student.
Enrich the lives of 1st-8th grade students by becoming a positive role model! Mentors commit to a minimum of two hours per week and one full academic year. No prior teaching experience is required, and training is provided to all members.
