In recognition of Veterans Day, the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) will hold events at many of the Maricopa Community Colleges honoring all veterans and military service members.

“We are incredibly grateful for the military service members and veterans who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom, and we are committed to serving this community, just as they have served our country,” said MCCCD Interim Provost, Dr. Eric Leshinskie.

“Our District understands the specific challenges that military service members and veterans face when pursuing higher education,” Dr. Leshinskie said. “Our colleges have been recognized by Military Advantage as ‘Military Friendly Schools’ due to our dedication to providing military service members and veterans with educational opportunities and support. On behalf of everyone at the Maricopa Community Colleges, I would like to thank you for your service.”

In addition to this year’s events, the Maricopa Community Colleges support veterans and military service members with Military and Veteran Success Centers that provide free services and resources for transitioning military members, veterans and their dependents.

Each of the 10 Maricopa Community Colleges also has a Veterans Services Center with dedicated advisors, most of whom are veterans themselves, who offer a complete range of services including mental and health services, academic and career counseling, family support and networking students with veteran services both on campus in the surrounding community.

Below are a sampling of this year’s events, which are free and open to the public.
