The results are in for this year’s K-12 district writing contest. Winners will be honored May 1, and their work will be published in the annual Voices anthology this spring.
The district writing contest, sponsored by the Curriculum and Instruction Department, is open to all Mesa students and staff members.
Categories include narrative, poetry, class book and essay. Entries by first-place winners in each category will be published in the district writing anthology, Voices 2014.
In celebration of their writing success, first-place and honorable mention winners will be honored at the District Writing Awards Ceremony on May 1, in the Franklin in the Brimhall Junior High auditorium, 4949 E. Southern Ave., Mesa.
Elementary students will be recognized beginning at 6 p.m. followed by the secondary students at 7:30 p.m. The ceremony is an opportunity to honor the winners and to present their certificates, ribbons and Voices 2014 anthologies.
