In celebration of Veterans Day, the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) proudly honors veterans and active members of the military with events across many of the Maricopa Community Colleges.

“We are honored to celebrate our military service members and veterans, whose sacrifices and service deserve our most sincere gratitude,” said MCCCD Interim Chancellor, Dr. Steven R. Gonzales. “As we celebrate Veterans Day, we recognize the military personnel who are also our staff, students, faculty, friends, and family. On behalf of the Maricopa Community Colleges, thank you for your service.”

Happy Veterans Day from Maricopa Community Colleges

At all 10 of the Maricopa Community Colleges, services for military personnel, veterans, and their dependents are designed to offer the highest quality assistance. MCCCD offers a variety of certificates and degrees to assist veterans with career and educational goals, workforce development, and preparation for university transfer, as well as a variety of support services. This allows veterans and active duty students to devote more time to their education and translate military training and experience into a rewarding career.

MCCCD is also committed to finding innovative ways to help veterans progress in their careers. In collaboration with the Microsoft Imagine Academy, U.S.VETS, the Arizona Commerce Authority, Slalom, and the Institute for Digital Progress, the Maricopa Community Colleges launched the Microsoft Veteran Certification Program, specifically designed for veterans throughout the Maricopa IT Institute. The program prepares students to take the Microsoft Office 2019 Excel Expert certification and covers a variety of topics, including how to manage and format data, use advanced formulas, validate and audit data, analyze data, use simple macros, and collaborate with others using Excel

In addition, all of the Maricopa Community Colleges have received the Veteran Supportive Campus designation by the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services, in addition to the District being a partner organization of the Military/Veteran Resource Network.
