Joanna Martinez, a recent graduate of Maricopa High School in Maricopa Unified School District, is the latest winner of the AZEdNews Scholarship sponsored by The Brand Agency.

The Brand Agency is a marketing company in the Phoenix area that works with many school districts and companies across the country doing web, print and media advertising.

The Brand Agency has worked with ASBA for more than 10 years.

“We are extremely happy to be partnering with AZEdNews on this scholarship program and look forward to helping more students each year attain their dreams,” said Chris Macomber, CEO of The Brand Agency.

Martinez is a freshman at Arizona State University this fall and will be studying kinesiology in hopes of becoming an occupational therapist in the future.

The scholarship was granted to Martinez after she submitted a one-minute video entry about what she would use the funds for.

“I would use the scholarship money towards any required courses within my major or any textbooks that are needed,” Martinez said in her video entry.

“This would just help me and my family pay any additional costs for college,” Martinez said.

The AZEdNews Scholarship sponsored by The Brand Agency is a quarterly opportunity for seniors attending public high schools in Arizona to win a one-time $500 scholarship to be put towards fees and expenses for community college, vocational or trade school, or university.

High school seniors at Arizona public schools can apply for the AZEdNews Scholarship with a video entry that is less than one minute long saying why they would like the scholarship from now until June 30, 2022.
