Four Higley Unified School District teachers took their skills to China this summer.

The teachers from two Higley Unified School District schools spent two weeks instructing students in Shijiazhuang, China this past summer.

The teachers – Kathy Kalinke from Power Ranch Elementary and Haleigh Rohner, Beth Knudsvig, and Brennan Hallock from Sossaman Middle School – taught students various subjects during a summer camp in Shijiazhuang, China.

The Higley teachers taught two week-long sessions to about 900 students during a summer camp in Shijiazhuang, China .

Ms. Kalinke taught physical education and Mr. Hallock taught music, while Mrs. Knudsvig taught English Language and Mrs. Rohner taught science. Two camp sessions ran in July. The four teachers who took their skills to China taught together in a group and rotated through the four classes they taught.

The Higley teachers made weekend excursions to Xi’An and Beijing. They even got an opportunity to visit the Great Wall in Beijing.

Each teacher was so grateful for the experiences they had getting to teach students on the other side of the world.
