With Superbowl fever over, there is a fun, free, fantastic event for the entire family to enjoy in the West Valley on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Pendergast District is having the Grand Opening and Community Forum celebrating the newly completed, state-of-the-art Pendergast Community Resource Center that is part of the Pendergast Elementary School District and serving children and families in the entire West Valley.
This inclusive facility brings together health and wellness, fitness, social services and educational organizations focused on meeting the comprehensive needs of families.
The center creates a safe, welcoming environment for the entire community.
The Pendergast School District Community Education Department and the Pendergast Community Center provide education, family and support services by extending the school experience with quality programs and resources to meet the diverse needs of the community.
“This is a dream come true for our schools, students and the entire community,” said Dr. Lily DeBlieux, Pendergast superintendent.
“We thank everyone for their support in making this a reality and providing a broad range of services for everyone from birth through senior citizens,” DeBlieux said. “We encourage the community to come out for this free event and celebrate with us and our partners.”
Additionally, there is before and after school and affordable child care, community education classes, athletics, and a full recreation center for school aged children during school and school breaks.
The event will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. located at the Pendergast Community Center located at 10550 West Mariposa Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85037 (cross streets are 103rd Avenue and Camelback).
