DYSART SCHOOLS— Dysart is pleased to offer the new, exciting Global International Academy at Luke Elementary School commencing the 2014-2015 school year.

The Global International Academy is an interdisciplinary program that provides students with an opportunity to think both globally and locally.  Students will have online world language learning, as well as practice communicating effectively with diverse audiences.

The Global International Academy will be available for 6th and 7th grade students in the 2014-2015 school year, and 2015-2016 will include 8th grade.  Students may live outside the Dysart School District boundaries and attend the academy.  The academy faculty is comprised of passionate educators dedicated to the success of middle level learners.

Students who choose to attend the Global International Academy will:

  • Investigate the world beyond one’s own immediate environment, frame significant problems, and conduct well-crafted and age-appropriate research.
  • Recognize perspectives, others’ and one’s own, while articulating and explaining such perspectives thoughtfully and respectfully.
  • Communicate ideas effectively with diverse audiences, and bridge geographic, linguistic, ideological, and cultural barriers.
  • Take action to improve conditions, viewing oneself as a player in the world and participating in the world reflectively.

Students within and outside of the Dysart School District are encouraged to take advantage of this exceptional opportunity.

Program information can be accessed at under the heading “Academic Pathways.”

Applications will be accepted online beginning January 3, 2013.
